STIHL MS 400 C-M VW Petrol Chainsaw | 45 cm
High-performance forestry saw for professional winter use
Product description
The STIHL MS 400 C-M VW is a new development optimised for professional forestry work in winter. It is particularly suitable for felling, limbing and processing timber in medium-sized stands. With its electric handle heating, it allows comfortable work, a better grip and high operating safety even at cold temperatures.
Common problems
Winter forestry work in medium-sized stands brings typical problems:
- Cold handles make safe, precise operation of the chainsaw more difficult in frost
- Iced-up carburettors can disrupt engine operation at very low temperatures
- High-performance saws without winter equipment quickly reach their limits in prolonged frost
Solution
The MS 400 C-M VW tackles this with maintenance-free, wear-free heating elements in the handlebar and rear handle for warm hands and electric carburettor heating with temperature-dependent control to prevent icing – combined with the excellent power-to-weight ratio and STIHL M-Tronic of the MS 400 C-M.
Key features
- Winter-ready high-performance saw with 45 cm RS cutting attachment
- Electric handle heating in the handlebar and rear handle, can be switched on at any time
- Electric carburettor heating with temperature-dependent control to prevent icing
- STIHL M-Tronic for optimum engine performance at constant maximum speed
- STIHL 2-MIX engine with 3.9 kW (5.3 hp) output
- STIHL ElastoStart for comfortable, smooth starting
- Captive nuts on the sprocket cover
- STIHL anti-vibration system for more comfortable working
Highlights
Electric handle heating
Maintenance-free, wear-free heating elements in the handlebar and rear handle provide warm, dry handles and high operating safety in winter when needed.
Electric carburettor heating
Temperature-dependent on/off control prevents the carburettor from icing up in winter – fully automatically, with no manual adjustment.
Excellent power-to-weight ratio
The MS 400 C-M VW achieves a particularly low power-to-weight ratio in its displacement class – meaning high cutting speed and agility, even in winter operation.
STIHL M-Tronic
The fully electronic engine management automatically controls ignition timing and fuel metering, even in winter conditions.
STIHL ElastoStart
A damping element in the special starter handle absorbs force peaks when starting and releases them evenly. This protects muscles and joints.
Comfortable working
The STIHL anti-vibration system significantly reduces strain on arms and hands during longer winter forestry work.
